MIDHURST U3A

What is the University of the Third Age?

U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, which is a self-help organisation for people of 55 and over – singles or couples – no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. It consists of local U3As all over the UK , which are charities in their own right and are run entirely by their members. The U3A approach to learning is – “learning for pleasure”. There is no accreditation or validation and there are no assessments or qualifications to be gained.

MIDHURST U3A meets monthly, usually at the Methodist Hall in North Street . We have a programme of interesting guest speakers, as well as a number of different ‘special interest’ groups. Subjects covered range from art appreciation and crafts to engineering and modern languages. Admission to monthly general meetings with speakers is £l for members and £2 for guests.

We shall be very pleased to see anyone who would like to come along for a “taster”! See our programme for the next few months below.

We also enjoy an active social life with regular supper evenings and outings to places of interest. We can even help you keep fit with walking groups and a cycling group. Walks and cycle rides are usually followed by a pub lunch.

New members are always welcome – the Annual Subscription is £8.00.
