Bespoke handmade kitchens are mainly made in wood - generally European or English Oak - though other woods are used as well, like Canadian White Maple. They thus come in two principal styles: the original Shaker or plain unadorned 'look' or elaborate.
Examine the enlarged version of the pictures below and you'll see the elaborate fetures some designs have. We draw your attention in particular to HM10, York Minster. And, HM11 illustrates the use of a Belfast Sink in the Traditional Country Style.

COWDRAY CASTLE BUILT 1542

Destroyed by a terrible fire in 1793 when the young owner was away with a friend boating on the River Rhine, Cowdray Castle's original kitchen block survives intact with its Tudor Kitchens.
