Burgage House converted to The Southern Bank a Film Set for Foyle's War

When Nick Thomas, a Midhurst Resident of long standing wearing a trilby a la Foyle, strode into Knockhundred Row on a bright early spring morning - Monday the 6th of March - he was pleasantly surprised to see a new bank. He thought from the name, Southern Bank Ltd, that it was a new arrival to Midhurst specialising in off-shore accounts.

He knocked on the door and was disappointed to find them shut at 10.00am . Seeing me smiling on the opposite pavement he turned to me and said " This is just what I want. I'm into offshore banking. Pity the're not open yet". At which point I told him he had knocked on a film set door.

I expected Michael Kitchen, as Inspector Foyle, to appear at any moment to drag him of to the cells in the Old Town Hall, read him his rights, and hold him as the prime suspect in a bank heist - the Foyle's War plot for which this set has been so meticulously created!
