WW2 Stories from Midhurst including how an American deep sea explorer, David Mearns, met the Midhurst based pilot, John Moffat, who torpedoed the Bismarck in a Swordfish.


Greenlit Rights Ltd is currently making a new series of Foyle's War, a drama set in the Second World War and centred on the character of DCS Foyle, played by Michael Kitchen.

Midhurst Bookshop in Knockhundred Row is one of the locations chosen. It will become a hairdressers in the film. And, Michael Kitchen courtesy of Photoshop is seen above in front of the 'hairdressers' window.. The house adjoining Midhurst Bookshop, Burgage House, is being used as a the Southern Bank.

Most of the scenes will be interiors, though some exteriors will show the arrival of characters. Various action vehicles at the back of the scene will be parked temporarily in Church Hill. Filming is currently scheduled for Friday March 3rd, Monday March 6th and Tuesday March 7th.

We weren't able to get any shots of filming on Friday 3rd March though we hope to pick up some nice pictures on Monday and Tuesday.
