Air quality is influenced by humidity, grease particles, dust, smells, smoke and waste heat.
There are two ways of maintaining good air quality: RECIRCULATION and EXTRACTION.
In RECIRCULATION the air is sucked through grease and charcoal filters, cleaned and returned to the kitchen via an opening in the hood. Metal grease filters should be removed frequently for cleaning in the dishwasher. We supply new grease and charcoal filters - the latter should be changed every 18 months. Some hoods have an indicator button for when cleaning or replacement needs to be done.
With EXTRACTION the air is ducted via a grease filter - standard on all hoods - into a wall outlet box with a non return valve. Fresh air supply is required via windows and doors. To ensure no cooking smells build up turn on the extractor several minutes before commencing cooking and get the airflow going. You are advised to use the largest ducting size available. Maximum ducting length is 5 metres.reducing by 1.2m for every 90 degree bend.
In choosing your hood you need to calculate the volume of your kitchen - length x width x height - and allow for 10 air changes per hour. All hoods come in stainles steel (2) and two models in black (3) as well. Those with glass canopies some are available too in black glass instead of the standard transparent glass. All canopy ,telescopic and integrated hoods come in silver metallic grey (4) and the conventional hood either in stailess steel or black and white - see pictures.

NOISE LEVEL
Most Neff hoods are exceptionally quiet.
The length and type of ducting and installation surroundings determines the noise level you'll hear.
If you are sensitive to noise or have an open plan kitchen/living area you need to bear this in mind.
HOOD FUNCTIONS
Autimatic after Running.
Hood continues running at low speed for 10-15 minutes before turning itself off.
Interval Operation.
Ventilates the kitchen at hourly intervals, on lowest setting, 24/7
Ultrasound Sensor. Detects the amount of steam and automatically sets the best setting for extracting it
Intensive Setting and Automatic Revert. Extraction boosted to max level when required for demanding cooking situations and reverts to power level 2 after circa 10 minutes.

HALOGEN LAMPS
Some extractor hoods have low energy halogen lamps. Some simply switch and turn off, others
can be adjusted to the level you want. Whilst cooking is in progress they can provide bright, accurate ilumination but when you're ready to eat the light can be made softer. SoftLight with a dimmer is also available on a number of hoods
